The safflower

The safflowerSafflower is an annual plant belongs to the oilseed crop, also known as an american or wild saffron, thistle and even more exotic names. Grain of safflower is a bare, white, shining achene.
We have cultivated and wild safflower. This plant grows in the Caucasus, Kursk region, and in Crimea. It is allow exporting the grain of safflower from Russia to the EU, the CIS, and the Middle East.

The industry uses safflower for production of natural dyes: red, yellow and saffron colors.

In addition, safflower is used in food industry. One of the areas is the production of caramel and margarine. In medicine, safflower is used for production diuretic, laxative, choleretic remedies.

Safflower oil is the most valuable product people make from safflower. Safflower oil contains about 80 % of linoleic acid, which is not synthesized in human body. Meanwhile, it makes the blood vessel more flexible, and it also improves the functioning of the main organs. Oil of safflower has firming, softening and nourishing action on skin. Safflower also improves the bloodstream.
